- You must stay on the trail during any forward progress towards finish.
- If you elect to drop out, you must notify the nearest aid station or phone a race official.
- Each racer must have a number on the outer portion of both arms. Numbers will be given the morning of the race.
- Racers may employ the use of pace runners anytime after the turnaround in McBaine. Dogs, other animals, and bikes cannot be used as pace runners.
- Racers may only receive aid in the exchange zones of the aid stations. If you have a support crew, be sure they are aware of this. Exchange zones will be clearly marked in chalk near the aid stations, and will be approximately 100 feet long. These are the only locations where you can receive supplies or hand off trash, etc.
- Racers may elect to have drop bags at the aid stations, and we will be happy to deliver them for you. Be sure that your drop bags are clearly marked with your name and the aid station to which you’d like them delivered. Be sure that whatever you pack is able to handle rain, heat, etc. We will collect the bags periodically during the day and deliver them to the finish line in Boonville.
- Please do not litter. This is grounds for disqualification. Carry all trash to the next aid station where we will take care of it.
- Restrooms will be available at all required aid stations.
- Besides the cutoff time of 7:30pm for the finish in Boonville, there is a cutoff time of 1:45pm at the McBaine turnaround. The Department of Natural Resources does not allow activity on the Katy Trail after sunset, so the race must end on time.
- Please be aware that there will be a lot of bike activity on the trail, assuming nice fall weather. Be predictable in your line of progress, and listen for bikers announcing their passage from behind.
- Private property borders much of the trail. Please be respectful of that.
- You should carry water with you, at least during the long stretches of 6+ miles between aid stations. There are 4 such stretches over the course of the race.
- The RRCA strongly discourages use of headsets while running in races.
